2013 Annual Tea

The Monroeton United Methodist Women held their Annual Tea on September 25 with 57 ladies attending.  A lunch of Jello salad, a variety of sandwiches and a large assortment of cookies was served.   Our tea was served in beautiful tea cups and pots from the collection of Ruth Wohlgemuth.

Our theme was music boxes.  Each person was asked to bring one and tell about it.  BJ Rouse read an interesting history about music boxes.

We were lucky to have our own Music Box Dancer as Sue Dunn performed after she was wound up by Delores Crane and accompanied on the keyboard by Betty Howard.

Helen Carson had a cute reading about the family of VanGogh.

One of our highlights was the appearance of Tiny Tim (Loraine Cummings) and his three Tulip pickers (Helen Carson, Delores Crane and Darla Morse)  “tip toeing” through the tulips.

Twelve ladies were selected to join an “All Saints Kitchen Band” with each person having a kitchen item to play.  They all marched to the music of “As the Saints go Marching On.”

A love offering of $185 was collected for Grace Connection and door prizes were given out.

Many songs were sung, ending with “Let There Be Peace On Earth.”   Everyone got a pretty flower pen to take home, along with a smile on their face.

We hope to see everyone back again next year.

A big thank you to Betty Howard for playing the keyboard for us, and Lois McPherson and her committee, Delores Crane, Loraine Cummings, Sue Dunn and all the other ladies who helped to make it a special day.
